The College of Social Sciences was established in 1998 to include four departments: Sociology and Social Work, Psychology, Geography and Political Science. They lead to obtaining a bachelor's degree in Sociology and Social Work. In 2001, the college expanded with the joining of a new department, the Department of Library and Information Sciences, which later changed its name to become the Department of Information Studies.
