Abdelaziz Adoum Mahamat, a Chadian citizen, began his academic journey in Kuwait in 2007 on a scholarship. Attracted by Kuwait University's reputation for excellence and supportive educational environment, Abdelaziz joined the Department of Geography in 2012 to pursue his passion for GIScience.

Graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Geography in 2017, Abdelaziz continued to excel academically, enrolling in the MSc program in Applied Geosciences and GIS. His master’s project, supervised by Dr. Adeeba Al-Hurban, focused on estimating sand dune movement in the Al Atraf area using Landsat images—reflecting his dedication to environmental studies. He graduated in 2019, equipped with advanced knowledge and skills.

Now employed at Integrated International for Environmental Services (IIES), Abdelaziz applies the concepts and techniques learned at Kuwait University to his GIS and remote sensing work. His story underscores the department's appeal to international students, offering world-class education, diverse perspectives, and robust academic support.
