Welcome to the Department of Geography at Kuwait University—a vibrant hub of learning, research, and community engagement. As one of the founding departments of Kuwait University, established in 1966, we have a rich history of advancing geographic knowledge and fostering innovation in education and research. Our commitment to excellence has positioned us as a leader in the study of geography, both locally and regionally.

Our department is dedicated to exploring the dynamic relationship between people and their environments. From examining natural processes to addressing the challenges of urban development and climate change, our programs bridge the gap between theory and practice. We emphasize the integration of Geospatial data and tools in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Remote Sensing, and Spatial Analysis, preparing our students to tackle complex global challenges with confidence and technical expertise.

Our faculty members are outstanding educators and researchers, making significant contributions in research areas such as coastal geomorphology, urban planning, environmental justice, climate change, geospatial modeling.
