The Department of Information Studies at Kuwait University offers two academic programs:
Minor in Information Studies
The Department of Information Studies offers a minor for students at Kuwait University in the field of Information Studies to introduce the latest information sciences and skills that have a direct impact on individuals in society.
The minor in Information Studies aims to develop information literacy among students so that they are capable of working in an environment of continuous informational and social change.
Through the courses offered in the minor, students will be able to enhance their use of information sources and technologies in a way that aligns with their main disciplines.
The minor in Information Studies is considered one of the practical applications of Kuwait University’s policy to encourage and implement cooperation between academic departments on common topics and issues related to information development in society.
The minor consists of 24 credit hours, including 3 mandatory courses and 5 elective courses.
Master’s in Information Studies
The Department of Information Studies offers a program aimed at granting a Master’s degree in Information Studies to students from all academic disciplines who wish to continue their academic journey.
The program aims to enhance the academic and research level of students and prepare a generation specialized and proficient in information skills and sciences by providing the latest advancements in information science, information technology, and the management of various information centers.
The program accepts both full-time students and part-time students.
English is the language of instruction for the courses in the Master’s program in Information Studies.
