Maryam Al-Shammari’s academic and professional journey reflects her unwavering commitment to personal growth and inspiring others. After earning a Bachelor’s in GIS and a master’s in applied Geosciences and GIS from Kuwait University, Maryam began her career at the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR). There, she honed her skills in satellite image analysis, data extraction, and scientific research, applying her education to real-world challenges.

Her determination and passion for learning led her back to Kuwait University, where she joined the Geography Department as a Teaching Assistant. Returning to her alma mater, Maryam found herself transitioning from a student to a mentor, guiding and inspiring new generations of geographers. She emphasizes that perseverance and limitless vision are key to achieving success.

Today, Maryam supports continuous learning in GIS and remote sensing, blending innovative teaching methods with her field expertise to nurture future leaders in geography and GIS.
